About Us

Meet Your
Instructors

Hi! We're Steve + Sarah DeLotelle! We met at Lee University in 2007 and immediately bonded over a love for rock climbing, camping, and exploring nature! After getting married, Steve earned a masters in counseling and spent a decade in wilderness therapy, while I (Sarah) worked as a youth minister. We homeschool our three kids who continually teach us about  wonder and adventure. Young Bushcrafters was started because we are passionate about seeing youth thrive in a wilderness setting! Our hope is that bushcrafting will be a source of confidence and joy throughout your child's life!

Reviews We Love

Reviews

"This is the best thing our kids said they did all year. Our three kids each have an area they love - from survival techniques to the animal lover to the crafty nature explorer - they each got to learn skills they use all the time now. Sarah and Steve do an amazing job at working with several age levels at once and keeping everyone engaged on their level. It's truly a gift!"

Mike and Julia

"Sarah and Steve led each class will a gentle, calming presence that made my children feel comfortable. They were attuned to the needs and interests of every individual.  After each class, my children came home and practiced the skills they learned from Steve and Sarah. We will definitely be back!"

Kristen

"My kids learned so many skills in Young Bushcrafters that they will be able to carry with them for life! I was amazed at some of the things they crafted and came home with: hand carved spoons, willow woven baskets, natural dyed bandanas, fish pots, and clay pots. Their favorite unit was definitely spoon carving which means they made a great many more at home! Sarah and Steve are trustworthy, kind leaders with a great knowledge base. I recommend this class to any youth or child looking to learn more about the outdoors!"
